Registration is now open for the Spring 2022 season!

Tee Ball:

League age 5 to 7 year olds. Learning baseball for the first time. Batters hit off the tee, with lots of help from the coaches and volunteers. Coach pitch is introduced toward the end of the season. Everybody hits, we don't keep score, we try to get outs but we don't count those either. Lots of fun.  Players typically play two years of tee ball.

Minors A:

6 to 9 year olds. Developing baseball players. A pitching machine is used. We keep track of outs - three outs end an inning. We don't keep track of score, but the kids always seem to. Players start in coach pitch with limited skills and leave able to throw, catch and hit. Preparation for the next step up where the kids pitch.

Minors AA:

7  to 10 year olds. First division where kids pitch. Moving toward real baseball. Kids pitch from 42'.  Three strikes and you're out. If the kid pitcher throws 4 balls we revert to coach pitch. The coach gets four pitches, if the kid doesn't hit, he is out. Minors AA players are selected to play minors based on a try out and a draft. Players not selected for AA will play Minors A to further develop their skills.

Minors AAA:

Up to 11 year olds. Real baseball. Kids pitch from 46'. Walks, steals, we keep score and we keep stats for the teams. Players play the position where they best help the team. Minors players are selected to play minors based on a try out and a draft. Players under 11 not drafted to play Minors AAA will play AA or A.

Majors:

Up to 12 years old. The highest level of play in Little League Baseball. Players are selected based on a try out and a draft. Players under 12 not drafted into Majors will continue to develop their skills on a Minors team.

Intermediate:

For 13 year olds. For the first time we are introducing an Intermediate program to SMLL. This will allow our players to continue playing together after they complete their 12yo year, better preparing them for participation in 13/14 Pony and Juniors divisions. Because the field dimensions are different for Intermediate than for Minors/Majors, practices and games will be held outside of Sierra Madre, with locations TBD.

The Little League Challenger Division®

Founded in 1989, The Challenger division is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4 to 18; older players can register for the Senior division, but both divisions will play together.
